Tooth-Coloured Fillings
A natural-looking way to treat cavities while keeping your smile bright.
What are Fillings?
Fillings are a restorative treatment to “fill” the hole that is created after we have removed a cavity from your tooth.
Tooth colored filling material is called "composite." It is a resin-based material that is bonded or “glued” to the remaining tooth structure. We do not use amalgam, or “silver-colored” fillings, at our office.
What is Aesthetic “Dental Bonding”?
This is a bit of a misnomer as all composite filling materials are technically bonded or glued to the tooth. The term “dental bonding” typically refers to patients who want fillings placed on their front teeth to improve their smile.
In essence, these are the same as normal fillings, however, they are technically much more challenging to do and sometimes require additional planning and preparation to achieve optimal results. This can also be a more cost effective way of improving your smile compared to veneers or crowns.
To find out more details about dental bonding and fillings, feel free to contact us via email or phone or book in with one of our doctors for an examination so that we may better discuss with you if you are a candidate for this treatment!
