SEDATION DENTISTRY

Not A Fan of Coming to the Dentist? No Worries!

Do you have a fear of coming to the dentist? We know it’s not personal but trust us, you are NOT alone! We understand that the entire dental experience can be very overwhelming and this may stem from a variety of different reasons, and our entire team at Glenbrook Dental is committed to making your experience as comfortable as possible.

Having said that, some patients may still require a little more help to comfortably receive treatment, which is why we offer treatment under sedation.

Our certified doctors are able to provide:

  • Nitrous Sedation
  • Oral Sedation
Tanks of nitrous oxide (also known as 'laughing gas') at Glenbrook Dental, used to sedate anxious patients

Nitrous sedation (Laughing Gas)

What is it?

We place a nosepiece over your face and you breath in the gas, that’s it!

Who is it for?

Patients who have a mild amount of anxiety about receiving dental treatment.

Is it safe for kids?

Yes, We can easily administer this for children so that we can make their first experience receiving treatment more pleasant! They’ll be asking you to come back to see us!

Is it expensive?

It is a great and affordable option of sedation for all patients, and typically is covered by most insurance plans.

Will I feel sedated after my appointment?

The effects are completely reversed before you leave the clinic!

Oral sedation

What is it?

We place a powdered sedative under your tongue and you sit back, relax, and we will begin treatment when you start feeling mildly sedated.

Who is it for?

Patients who have a mild-moderate amount of anxiety about receiving dental treatment.

Is it expensive?

Typically the cost is more than nitrous oxide sedation but it is still less expensive than other forms of sedation such as IV sedation and General Anesthesia.

Is this available for kids?

We do not administer this type of sedation for children.

Will I feel sedated after my appointment?

Yes, you will need someone to bring you to and from your appointment and they will need to be able to monitor you for the remainder of the day. Whatever your level of anxiety our team is ready to discuss these various options of sedation with you. To find out more details about this treatment feel free to contact us via email or phone or book in with one of our doctors for an examination so that we may better discuss with you if you are a candidate for sedation dentistry!
